PB+J Web Design Privacy Policy

Who we are

Our website address is: https://pbjwebdesign.com.

Your privacy is very important to us. At PB+J we have a few fundamental principles that we follow:

Types of data we collect

Website Cookies

We love cookies! Well preferably the yummy chocolate chip type…

This type of cookie is slightly different and is essentially a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns.

PB+J Web Design uses cookies to help identify and track visitors, their usage of the PB+J Web Design website, and their website access preferences.

We do this to make sure you have the best possible user experience and to provide us with insights as to how we can improve our website for you.

PB+J Web Design visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using the PB+J Web Design website, with the drawback that certain features of PB+J Web Design’s website may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

WordPress Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Google Analytics

When someone visits www.pbjwebdesign.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Mailing Lists

As part of our contact form, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing me at jessica@pbjwebdesign.com.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to jessica@pbjwebdesign.com

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.

We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We will not release your information to third parties beyond PB+J Web Design, unless you have explicitly requested for us to do so, or if we are required to do so by law, for example, by court order or for prevention of fraud or other crime.

Changes to this Privacy Notice

We may review this Privacy Policy from time to time, so please be sure to check back every now and then!
